In Windham, New York, Wylder Hotels, recognized for restoring and reimagining great boutique hotels in unexpected locations, launches an instant classic. Wylder Hotels announced today that Wylder Windham, its third hotel, will open in August 2022. The newest resort honors the unique local ambiance of the wonderful hamlet of Windham, New York, and embraces the timeless joys that the land has to offer, with a concentration on classic soulful properties and wide-open spaces.

Following the purchase of the legendary Thompson House Resort, the reimagining will include seven separate lodges with a total of 110 rooms, 20 acres of sprawling property, an oversized in-ground pool, an on-site restaurant and bakery, 4,000 square feet of private event space, and plenty of fresh air.

Wylder Windham follows the openings of Wylder Hope Valley in 2020, which was named to Travel + Leisure’s 2021 “It List” as one of the best new properties in the world, and Wylder Tilghman Island in 2018, which was named a Conde Nast Traveler’s Mid Atlantic Readers’ Choice.

Local craftsmen have meticulously rebuilt each of Wylder Windham’s seven historic lodges, inns, manors, and cottages for the next generation of upstate travelers. The Pines Inn (28 rooms), The Tamarack Lodge (16 rooms), The Manor (14 rooms), The Spruce Cottage (14 rooms), The Evergreen Lodge (25 rooms), The Main Lodge (13 rooms), and The Farmhouse (1 key residence) have all been redesigned and rebuilt by local craftsmen from Baxter Built in collaboration with Brooklyn-based design firm Post Company and local architect Jason Anderson.

For a timeless getaway, the dog-friendly hotel provides a collection of 110 suites and king- and queen-bedded rooms with oak floors, unique furniture, and beautiful bathrooms. 82 rooms have enormous balconies with spectacular views of Windham Mountain or the Batavia Kill, allowing guests to enjoy both indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The iconic “The Baller Suite” at the Main Lodge has double balconies overlooking the pool and sweeping mountain vistas, making it the ideal suite for keeping things “wyld.” Guests can rent Wylder Windham for special gatherings and functions or enjoy an intimate weekend escape, with everything from Victorian structures to modern rooms and apartments.

Wylder Windham is overflowing with opportunity to discover the Great Northern Catskills’ natural splendor. Wylder Windham spans 20 pastoral acres and is located near to Windham Country Club, an 18-hole public golf course, the Windham Path, a local favorite hiking trail, and Windham Ski Mountain, which is only a 2-minute drive away. For off-site activities, a restored vintage Land Rover Defender 110 Shuttle will provide complimentary transportation to nearby companies such as The Vineyard at Windham and Windham Fine Arts.
