The Starling will feature many reinvented venues for both Atlanta residents and visitors under the new name, including a revamped food and beverage concept, Lantana. The Starling, the newest development of Atlanta’s Hotel Midtown, opens today. This exciting redesign coincides with the property’s addition to Hilton‘s Curio Collection by HiltonTM, a global network of outstanding hotels, each handpicked for its distinct character and personality. The Starling is the brand’s second property in Atlanta, and it joins Hilton’s list of full-service hotels in the city.

Previously known as the W Atlanta Midtown, the hotel’s new identity, which is part of the Curio Collection by HiltonTM brand, pays homage to its location in “the city in the forest” and is inspired by the starling bird found in neighboring Piedmont Park. Starlings are a highly gregarious type of birds that may be seen in big flocks swooping through the Georgia sky in beautifully coordinated patterns, symbolizing the vibrant community that surrounds the hotel and the people who visit.

The property’s new identity is inspired by the vitality and ingenuity of these birds, and will include not just a sleek new makeover, but also a revised roster of hotel programming. The hotel spa, which will be renamed The Spa at The Starling, and the distinctive lobby bar, which will reopen as the hotel’s newest food and beverage concept, Lantana, will also be updated.

Lantana is named after a vibrant flower famed for its vibrant blossoms, a tribute to the lounge’s liveliness and vivid floral decor. The term also refers to the garden of experiences that guests can have while sipping cocktails and eating meals, since guests and visitors will now be able to enjoy full service all day, from breakfast to dinner to late-night drinks.

Cole Pate, the Executive Chef, will be in charge of the culinary offerings. Pate worked as Sous Chef at the legendary Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., and later as Executive Chef of local Atlanta favorites The Southern Gentleman and Gyspy Kitchen before joining The Starling.

Chef Pate will start serving a new menu at Lantana that highlights the rich and fresh flavors of Midtown’s expanding culinary scene. Guests will be able to order delicious shareables like as Bang Island Mussels and Baby HassleBack Potatoes, as well as unique cocktails such as the Mandarin Ginger Gin Sour and Bourbon Ball Martini.

Aside from the extensive gastronomic options, guests are urged to book a spa treatment or a full day of pampering at The Spa at The Starling. To commemorate the hotel’s rebranding, the spa will offer a number of packages in the coming weeks. The Starling will begin to introduce immersive programs and experiences with the rebrand, including  a full-day package that includes fitness classes curated by popular local instructors as well as time at both the terrace pool and the spa.

The new mood of the hotel feels completely at home with the textured and unique aspects that make The Starling a signature experience in and of itself, following the hotel’s total restoration in 2019. The property exudes areas that represent a friendly and soulful personality, from the eccentric interior design to the electrifying vibe that runs through the walls.
