Lower Bucks County motorists will find travel restrictions this weekend and next week on and around US1 for road construction and basic drilling operations in Bensalem and Middletown counties, the Department of Transportation announced today of Pennsylvania (PennDOT). Hours and jobs are:

From Monday, Nov. 8 to Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Neshaminy Boulevard will be reduced to a single lane with markers between Bristol Road and Rockhill Road (around Neshaminy Mall) for core drilling. operations; From Monday, November 8 to Thursday, November 11, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, there may be periodic one-way closings in a northerly and southbound direction and 15-minute traffic stops on U.S. 1 between the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange and the Penndel / Business US1 Interchange for controlled blasting to remove rock from US1 embankments; From Monday, Nov. 8 to Thursday, Nov. 11, from 8 to 10 p.m., Bristol Road will be closed between Neshaminy Boulevard and Old Lincoln Highway during periodic 15-minute traffic stops on US1; and Friday, Nov. 12, from 8 to 6 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 13, Street Road (Route 132) will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the Turnpike Sliding Ramp and Old Lincoln Highway for the construction of the intersection.

Drivers should allow more time to travel around the work area. All scheduled activities depend on the weather. Teams are rebuilding and widening nearly three miles of roadway, improving interchanges and building several new bridges, including new structures over Neshaminy Creek and over railroad lines near Penndel Exit, under two contracts (RC1, RC2). to rebuild, expand, and improve US1 in Bucks County. JD Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, PA, is the general contractor for the $ 110.8 million RC2 section project that is scheduled to be completed by mid-2026. Alan Myers Construction, of Worcester, PA, is the general contractor for the $ 95 million RC1 section project which is expected to be completed by mid-2022. Sections RC1 and RC2 are two of three construction contracts to rebuild and expand US 1; replace aged bridges; and install safety improvements along a four-mile section of the freeway from north Philadelphia north of Route 413 (Pine Street) to Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
