Chincoteague Island’s new Jellystone Park will open on April 1st. On Friday, April 1, the third Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort facility in Virginia will open. Where the Chincoteague Island KOA used to be, Jellystone Park Chincoteague Island is now open. The Chincoteague Island facility joins Blue Water’s Jellystone Park locations in Natural Bridge Station, Va., Cave City, Ky., Lincoln, Del., and Greenfield Park, N.Y. as the company’s fifth Jellystone Park location.

New playground equipment, basketball and pickleball courts, new enclosures for the park’s pavilion, as well as new landscaping, road upgrades, and fresh paint on park structures are all planned for the new 200-acre Chincoteague Island location. In addition, the firm intends to add more rental accommodations to the park’s current mix of rental cabins, furnished glamping tents, and RV rentals, which complement the park’s RV and tent sites.

The family attractions, activities, Yogi Bear character interactions, and on-site amenities at Jellystone Park sites are well-known. A swimming pool, jump pillow, playground, and activities center are available at the Chincoteague Island facility. The Assateague Island National Seashore’s sandy beaches and wild ponies are about a mile away.

The third Yogi Bear-themed park in Virginia is Jellystone Park Chincoteague Island, with the others being in Luray and Natural Bridge Station.
