The former Gidding-Jenny department store on 18 West Fourth Street will host a 360-degree, large-scale digital art experience allowing guests entire immersion in Van Gogh. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will open at 18 West Fourth Street early next month, according to exhibition producer Exhibition Hub and Fever, the leading entertainment discovery site. This vast location in the heart of Cincinnati, housed in one of Cincinnati’s most historic buildings, is almost as ancient as Vincent van Gogh! The venue began its existence as the Fifth Bank Building in 1860, when the artist was only 7 years old. It was shortly transformed into Fifth Third Bank, a soaring structure with a 40-foot-high atrium.

It was then converted into a two-story building when retailer Gidding-Jenny expanded its operation from 10 West Fourth Street to take over the former bank building. Guests will marvel at the priceless Rookwood facade, that was the signature mark of the Gidding-Jenny building, before becoming immersed in the Van Gogh experience. Visitors to the exhibition can walk into more than 400 of Van Gogh’s sketches, drawings, and paintings thanks to floor-to-ceiling digital projections enabled by cutting-edge video mapping technology.

The exhibition offers a one-of-a-kind VR experience in a separate gallery, in addition to the two-story tall core projection space. This multi-sensory experience takes viewers on a ten-minute journey through “a day in the life of the artist,” allowing them to learn about the inspiration behind some of Vincent’s most well-known paintings, such as Vincent’s Bedroom at Arles and Starry Night Over the Rhone River.

A drawing workshop and extra galleries dedicated to Van Gogh’s life, works, and techniques form a totally immersive experience that gives visitors a fresh perspective on the post-impressionist genius and his work. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is an immersive and instructive digital experience that is suitable for both adults and children. Tickets start at $32.20 for adults and $19.10 for children and are available now through Fever’s marketplace.Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is an immersive and instructive digital experience that is suitable for both adults and children. All ticket holders will have access to this interactive landing website, which will enhance the edu-tainment experience by allowing visitors to learn more about the exhibit and participate in online activities. These include 360o panoramas generated from Van Gogh artworks that allow you to explore Van Gogh’s surroundings and environment; visual trivia that may be answered using the website’s knowledge and amusing facts; and a “download” area with coloring templates of Van Gogh’s important artworks.
