Cruising in Canadian ports is safe to resume, allowing cruises and cruise tours to Alaska and Canada/New England to sail. Princess Cruises has finalized programs and guest experiences for a full summer season of 2022 cruises and cruise tours to Alaska, as well as its popular summer and fall Canada & New England program, following the recent announcement from Canada’s Federal Minister of Transport announcing the safe resumption of cruising in Canadian ports.

Princess is the most popular cruise line in Alaska, with six ships scheduled to sail in 2022, including the line’s newest ship, Discovery Princess. There are 12 different itineraries to choose from, with a total of 140 departures and five glacier-viewing opportunities, as well as trips to the Southeast Alaska communities of Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan.

Princess’ popular “Voyage of the Glaciers” seven-day cruises to and from Whittier, Alaska, depart from Vancouver. The “Voyage of the Glaciers” cruise is one of more than 20 cruise tour options that include an exciting land tour of Denali National Park and Princess Wilderness Lodges. Alaska cruises departing from Seattle and San Francisco stop in Victoria, British Columbia, as well as a variety of ports in Alaska towns, depending on the itinerary.

“The reopening of Canadian ports to the cruise industry is a bold and important move that significantly expands the array of travel opportunities available to guests while boosting the economies of the Canadian and Alaska destinations we visit by generating important revenue and job opportunities,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president.

Caribbean Princess will be the first Princess cruise ship to visit Canada, traveling on a four-day Pacific Coastal excursion with stops at Victoria on April 6 and Vancouver on April 7. For the summer of 2022, four handy west coast home ports – Seattle, Vancouver, B.C., Anchorage (Whittier), and San Francisco – make getting to Alaska easy and convenient. The Discovery Princess, a 143,700-ton, 3,660-passenger ship, is the newest ship in Alaska, sailing from Seattle on the famous seven-day Inside Passage tour.
