The Car Years on ITV is set against the backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way. 09 Aug 2022 The Car Years on ITV is set against the backdrop of the Wild Atlantic Way.  More than a million people in Britain will watch the Wild Atlantic Way
When episodes one and two of the new season of the popular television series The Car Years premiere on ITV4 this evening, nearly 1 million people in Great Britain will see images of the Wild Atlantic Way (9 August).

The eight-part series, which was funded by Tourism Ireland, was shot entirely along the Wild Atlantic Way. The show’s presenters, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Alex Riley, will each choose a vehicle they feel deserves to be named the best vintage car of each of the eight episodes, which each focus on a different classic car year.

The Ring of Kerry and the Conor Pass, two of the most stunning driving destinations along the Wild Atlantic Way, will be used to demonstrate how well the historic automobiles perform. Vicki and Alex will also be seen visiting Galway City, the Ballynahinch Castle, the Connemara Airport, and the Kilgarvan Motor Museum.

Publicity and broadcasts like this are important components of Tourism Ireland’s activity plan to entice tourists from the UK and other countries to add Ireland to their trip itineraries.
