World Famous Building Partners With Popular Cable TV Show For A Limited Time Event

The Empire State Building (ESB) began a two-month collaboration with New Yorkers to offer a special “Stranger Things” themed experience. With a one-of-a-kind, dynamic light show, ESB brought the Upside Down from Netflix’s “Stranger Things” across her entire southern façade. The stars of “Stranger Things” made a surprise appearance, unveiling a one-of-a-kind, life-size Demogorgon photo opportunity for guests on the building’s open-air 86th Floor Observatory.

The ESB’s south side was changed into a portal into the Upside Down on Thursday, May 26. Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Cara Buono, and Priah Ferguson from “Stranger Things” paid a visit to the Empire State Building that morning for a photo opportunity at the Observatory Experience. The Demogorgon will be on display at the Observatory Experience until the end of July.

These unique fan experiences were created in collaboration with Netflix and the advertising agency Giant Spoon.
